Mission
The goal of Arise Dance Retreat is for dancers to experience God’s very tangible love and mercy through encounter, community, and childlike faith so that they go forth and set the world ablaze, especially in the dance community, as disciples and beloved daughters of Christ.

Hello, I'm Barbs! I graduated from Seven Lakes HS in Katy, TX & drill team has been a part of my life ever since! From Rangerettes, to Aggieland, I am now in my 5th year as a dance educator in the Houston area. Outside of dance, I am very involved with the youth ministry program at my church. I have witnessed teenagers find truth and radically transform their lives to serve and glorify Jesus in all they do (which is hard in our world today). This is what sets my soul on fire. My goal in the dance community is to integrate who we love most and what we love most! I can only offer the gifts I've been given and facilitate a weekend to encounter Him, but I know what He offers surpasses our expectations in every way.
I have served and helped plan over 16 retreats in the last 5 years and it is incredible to see the fruits of stepping away from our busy life to grow closer with God. For the last two summers, I hosted a Christian Retreat for dance educators. I am so excited to do Arise for the second year. Let's share the good news and be a vessel for His Kingdom, sisters! I hope to see you there.

Not to bring Taylor Swift into this, but this will be our 13th retreat hosting together. For some of us, way more than that! Our professions consist of youth ministers, elementary teachers, high school teachers, counseling grad students, and ICU nurses. In retreat however, we are the MCee's, speakers, praise singers, small group leaders, AV technicians, and game facilitators. We. love. it.
We have done retreats for all ages. Last year, we served the dance community and we left with our cup filled to the brim. We felt His presence in every person, session, game, tear, and laugh. He is a good father who feeds the hungry. The coolest part is seeing Him change hearts again and again and again. Enjoy a few pictures of us participating in our favorite pastime!
